New Jersey: what the PBM reimbursement law requires

New Jersey has no reimbursement floor in force yet. A bill that would set a floor of NADAC plus the state Medicaid dispensing fee ($10.92) passed the Assembly in May 2026 and awaits the Senate and the Governor.

The Patient and Provider Protection Act (A1502) would set a floor of NADAC plus the state Medicaid professional dispensing fee of $10.92, require equal reimbursement across all contracted pharmacies regardless of affiliation, impose PBM fiduciary duties, and decouple PBM compensation from rebates.

The bill passed the Assembly on May 18, 2026 and was referred to the Senate; it has not been signed into law. Until it is enacted and effective, New Jersey is tracked here as pending.
